The son of Michael and Isabel Mondavi, Rob was raised in the Stag's Leap district of Napa Valley and spent much of his childhood among the vines and barrels at Robert Mondavi Winery. After working in other areas of the wine business, Rob was drawn to production and turned his focus to vineyards and winemaking.

In 2004, Rob joined the Michael Mondavi Family winemaking team as a fourth-generation Napa Valley winemaker. Rob assumed the role of Head of Winemaking in 2012 and continues to craft sustainable wines that express the family’s Napa Valley roots.
